Community Solar is an array of solar panels thoughtfully designed and installed to provide solar power to a local community. The solar array is installed on land that is leased and, once installed, the array feeds power into the electric grid.
Solar Endeavor is in the market to lease land to potentially develop Community Solar projects. We always work with landowners to ensure they, their neighbors, and community members are satisfied with the solar installation.
Think your land might be a good candidate? Please see how we would use the land below and give us a call today.
We install Silicon Cell Polycrystalline solar panels. Panels are encased in glass and aluminum and affixed to a racking system that is installed a few feed off the ground. Panels do not contain any hazardous materials.
Panels are installed in racks in rows and positioned to maximize their efficiency in gathering sunlight. The racking is installed to steel i-beams driven deep into the ground. There is no concrete used to install the panels to minimize impact on the land. Small power inverters are installed at the end of each row.
Native seeds are planted to maintain the land and soil. Native landscaping requires little to no maintenance. It effectively drains rain water, enriches the soil for future agriculture use, and is pesticide-free.
The only concrete typically installed on the land is a 200 square foot pad for the metering equipment and emergency shutoff switch. A separate storage container to hold batteries may be installed on some installations.
A packed gravel road provides access to the installation and leads from the equipment pad to the point of interconnection.
Appropriate fencing will be installed to surround the solar installation. Fencing will vary by property, but will be designed to allow small wildlife through.
Sometimes close neighbors may not want to look at solar panels. To address their concerns, we will meet with them to discuss perimeter landscaping to shield the panels from view.
This is the point where the solar array joins with the electrical grid and sends the power generated from the sun into the grid. The Point of Interconnection is typically located at the end of the access road somewhere on or close to the landowner's property.
